Revlon Facets of Fuchsia
& Revlon Starry Pink

Facets of Fuchsia - don't forget to click the pics for extra glittery detail!  ;D

Facets of Fuchsia and a better view of my envelope clutch.  :D

Facets of Fuchsia, 3 coats

Facets of Fuchsia is a mix of very fine & medium vibrant fuchsia hexagon glitters in a black jelly base.  The black jelly base is pigmented enough to achieve complete opacity at 3 coats while still allowing glitter from the initial coats to show through which creates nice depth.  I prefer this look to layering over black but it can be worn that way too.  The glitter distributed itself nicely and dried quite smooth for a polish with so much glitter in it. Nice surprise!

I ended up liking Facets of Fuchsia a lot more than I thought I would after I got it on my nails, but then most dark polishes look good on me because I'm so pale.  The opposite might happen in the photos of Starry Pink.  I hope it doesn't look too bad on me but I'm worried it's giving me zombie hand so I'm putting the photos of Starry Pink after the jump!

Lynnderella Her Holo, Holo Heart

1 coat Lynnderella Her Holo, Holo Heart over 3 coats Sally Hansen Delphinium

I wore this polish combination to my brother's wedding this past weekend.  This photo shows the wedding favor - a clear glass test tube filled with white rock candy. My brother is a chemist so it was both appropriate and yummy.

Back to the polish...

Fine silver holographic hexgon glitter pairs with silver holographic shards in random shapes and sizes to create Her Holo, Holo Heart.  Colors flare through a lacy silver maze of twinkling fine holographic particles and irregular holographic shards.  It's breathtaking.  Also - the formula is perfect.  I expected a tiny bit of fussing but I simply applied 1 coat to my nails and got a perfect result.  No fussing, no picking at pieces for placement, no edges poking up.  Awesome.

Lynnderella Very Pretty Vampire
& Claw Voodoo

1 coat Lynnderella Very Pretty Vampire over 2 coats Claw Voodoo

Claw Voodoo is a rich red jelly strewn with fine red glitter.  It made the perfect base for Lynnderella's Very Pretty Vampire:  a blend of red, burgundy, garnet, and black glitters in seemingly endless sizes of squares & hexagons which sparkle vibrantly from the blackened blood red tinted base.

This has to be the most amazing red mani I have ever worn.  *mind blown*

Wet 'n Wild Sea Witch

It's official.  Sea Witch is my number one favorite dark purple shimmer.

It's so dark and vampy yet it screams I AM PURPLE!!!
This is 3 coats of Sea Witch.

The base is a rich red violet while the shimmer is a strong blue violet which leads to this crazy glowing vampy goodness.  There is no mistaking this for black.  Ever. This is the brightest dark purple I've ever seen.  This is perfection.  I am in love.

I would also like to declare that the hottest makeup combination ever is:  vibrant purple nail polish with bright red lipstick.  I wore Revlon Strawberry Suede with these nails and it was love.

Wet 'n Wild Waves of Enchantment

3 coats Waves of Enchantment

A warmed pink shade with an intensely sparkly gold finish.  Delicate and dazzling.
This polish is really pretty.  And for $1.99 it's mind bogglingly pretty.

Tip Tuesday

Today's tip is about prepping the surface of the nails before painting them.  <3

Think about what happens when fingers touch glass - they leave behind smudgy prints that are comprised of skin oils.  These skin oils, along with moisturizing products, inevitably get on the nails.  This is a good thing unless you are just about to begin painting your nails.  Oils create a barrier between the surface of the nail and polish which can lead to chipping, poor wear, bubbles, and application problems.

There is an quick, easy way to prep the nail surface right before painting which significantly reduces these oils.

Revlon Blue Mosaic &
NYC Teal the End

2 coats Revlon Blue Mosaic over 2 coats NYC Teal the End

The green glitter really takes this to another level!

I have to give the other half credit for this mani.  He suggested adding Mosaic.

Blue Mosaic's base is almost clear unlike the other two glitters in Revlon's Expressionists Collection.  It has a very, very faint blue tint.  I love it layered though Blue Mosaic can be worn by itself with 3 coats giving pretty good opacity. It's combination of fine blue glitter, silver hex glitter, blue hex glitter, & green hex glitter is really beautiful.  It was very sparkly even before top coat and dried relatively smooth.  I ended up loving this way more than I thought I would.

Update!  See the other two glitter polishes from the Expressionists Collection, Facets of Fuchsia and Starry Pink, here!
